What is GPS Navigation?

In short and very general 'GPS Navigation' is the process of a device giving / displaying directions by calculating your current location using information received from a Global network of Satellites and maps stored on the device.

The Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) send out information in the general direction of earth, like a radio station emitting a signal, this signal of information is in shorts bursts like a submarine ping.

When the device has received several lots of information from several different satellites it then can calculate its location through triangulation.

Using maps stored on the device and its calculated location the device will then help guide / navigate you in your chosen direction, simply shortened to GPS Navigation.
